How to install the SysOrb server and a SysOrb agent
This tutorial shows you how fast and easy it is to install the SysOrb server and a SysOrb agent.
The SysOrb server is up and running in less than 3 minutes.
The SysOrb Server contains the main user/administrator console, database, web server for use with the Web User Interface, and the ability to perform passive (NetChecks) and SNMP-based (snmpChecks) monitoring of networked servers and devices (such as routers, switches, printers etc.). It is also the SysOrb Server that sends alerts to system administrators via SMS, e-mail or pager, when the monitored systems reach critical or alarming conditions.
The SysOrb Agent is very light software tool that needs to be installed locally on the virtual/physical servers that need to be monitored actively. It collects data from its host on parameters like CPU usage, free disk space, free memory, process presence and much more.
How to add SysOrb agent checks and start using nodeclasses
This tutorial shows you how fast and easy it to start using the SysOrb agent for deep monitoring of a windows server. The tutorial also introduce how the nodeclass feature in SysOrb works. By configuring SysOrb nodeclasses you can make a policy that can be applied to multiple devices. You only have to configure a policy one time. In this tutorial we show you how to configure a simple policy template for a windows server.
How to add a new user and assign an alert group to the user
This tutorial will show you how to setup up a new user in SysOrb and also how to assign an alert path to the user.
Alert paths are used by SysOrb to alert users of problems with the nodes being monitored.
In order for SysOrb to send an alert to a specific user, that user must have at least one Path configured.
The tutorial will also show you how to setup an alarm group. SysOrb organizes Paths into groups to ease setting up which users should receive alerts concerning which nodes or checks. Each Path can be member of multiple Groups, but each node and check can be assigned only one group to which alerts should be sent.
How to setup basic monitoring of a switch in SysOrb
This tutorial will show you how to start basic monitoring a switch via snmp. It will show you how fast it is to start monitoring incoming traffic and outgoing traffic on all port. The tutorial also introduce how to ad a multicheck graph.MultiCheck graphs can be used to present results from multiple checks in a single graph and can provide insights into how different checks interact or simply provide a more detailed view of the current status on a monitored device or system.
How to enable agent actions in SysOrb
Actions can help ease remote administration, as they can be defined to carry out common tasks on machines.
An Agent Action could as an example restart a web server, or reboot the target machine.
How to enable a custom check in SysOrb
If the built-in checks of the SysOrb Agent does not suffice for you particular setup, you may write extension scripts that can perform the check.This tutorial gives an example of how to activate a custom check.You can write these scripts in any language you desire. How to use SysOrb map feature
SysOrb "map" feature is a unique function that enables the user to easily upload a png image to the SysOrb server and network monitoring software. Typically the image would be a geographical map or a typology map of the network. Once a image has been uploaded, the user can chose to ad nodes, checks or domains to the image/map.

How to setup a SysOrb satellite
The SysOrb Satellite is basically a reduced-featured SysOrb Server and is used to monitor remote LAN's and is especially usefull if you want to do IP polling and SNMP monitoring in a remote LAN. So SysOrb can perform Netchecks (e.g ping) behind the firewall and still all configuration and setup is done from the Master SysOrb server.
